With your support, we can give children a voice so they can play with their friends, succeed at school and share with their families.Every parent is eager to hear how their child’s day at pre-school or kindergarten went, the stories of new discoveries and friendships, or art projects they did.
Imagine how discouraging it would feel if your child was unable to describe their feelings or experiences, and their frustration as they struggled to put their thoughts into words.
A communication disorder makes it difficult for a child to understand what others are saying, or to express their thoughts and feelings through speech. They may speak in two-word sentences, and have trouble answering simple questions or following directions. This can also affect how a child learns and socializes – key steps in their development at this critical age.
