Last week, after months of being shut down due to the pandemic, our newest partner, The Action Centre in LaSalle re-opened its doors. Adhering to the strictest of safety protocols, The Action Centre, that provides daily services to adults living with disabilities, launched a robust summer program that includes Bingo, Adapted Zumba, Geography, Discussion Groups, Music & Singing, Boccia, Physical Exercises, Wheelchair Dancing, Memory Exercises and the Screening of Films. While the Action Centre team maintained contact with its members throughout the shutdown, it was a particularly isolating time for this very vulnerable community who consider themselves a family. In the words of one Action Centre member, “this is our home.” We are so pleased they are back and we are proud to support them!
